Hopewell Valley Rec Soccer Player Registration - Fall 2021 Program

  • The Hopewell Valley Soccer Association (HVSA) is pleased to announce that registration will open in July for the Fall 2021 season. Registration and payment will be done using our new TeamSnap registration platform. A blast email will be sent to all past registrants once registration for Fall 2021 is open.

  • COVID-19 Update: June 8, 2020.
  • Youth sports leagues are approved for return to play effective June 22nd. We will implement all modifications required for our players, referees, coaches, and spectators to remain safe and healthy. Once CDC and state guidelines are deployed, we will communicate any changes via this webpage and email blasts to registered players. Full refunds will be available to any family that does not want to participate with the modifications which we implement. For your planning purposes, fields/locations listed below are tentative. However, dates/times are generally accurate.
  • Consistent with Youth Soccer directives, head balls are no longer permitted in HVSA Rec Soccer games or practices.

  • Programs
    There are six different age divisions for the Fall season as we transition to new age group designations. Divisions 1, 2, 3 and 4 are split by gender and age. The Pre-K division (run in conjunction with Soccer Shots) as well as new Division 0 are co-ed. Children ages 3 to 18 are eligible to participate.
  • Programs are grouped by age as of September 30, 2021, except Pre-K (September 1, 2021).

Division 4 will play in conjunction with Mercer County inter-county league teams. Times/Dates TBD

  • Schedule Notes
Games are played on Saturday mornings (all divisions) and Sunday afternoons (D2, D3, D4) beginning on Sept 11 through Oct 31, 2021. Pre-K, D0 and D1 games will not be played on the weekend of September 25th unless the Hopewell Harvest Fair is postponed or virtual.
A schedule will be provided after teams are formed. Locations are not finalized but we will try to keep the same locations. The locations used last year are listed above (Independence Park is next to Stony Brook Elementary). Practices for D2, D3, and D4 will occur once per week, your coach will determine the day and time.

 

  • JOSHUA RIGEL SCHOLARSHIP FUND

  • Player Assessments (Divisions 2 & 3 Only) 
  • D2 Girls and Boys, D3 Girls and Boys, will hold assessments in early to mid August. Your respective Division Coordinator will contact you with location/time details in late July.

 

  • Team Selection 
  • The HVSA board has adopted a draft procedure policy that warrants that all teams will be reselected on an annual basis.

 

  • Equipment Notes
    • Shin guards are mandatory in all Divisions.   Shirts, shorts and socks are provided for Division II thru IV.  A team shirt and a ball will be provided to each Division I player.  Soccer cleats are required for Divisions II thru IV.
    • Act C.5:18-1 passed by the Senate and General assembly of the State of New Jersey states that any child that wears corrective eyeglasses while participating in soccer shall be required to wear protective eyewear that meets the frame standards of the American Society for Testing and Materials (ATSM) F803 and the lens standards of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z87.1. Refer to this site for more information.
    • No forms of jewelry are allowed on a player with the only exceptions of religious or medical bracelets, which must be properly taped to the player's body. This includes all forms of piercing.

 

  • Volunteers
    The HVSA always needs board members, coaches, assistant coaches, sponsors and referees. If you would like to participate in one of these capacities, please indicate this when registering online.
  • All coaches and assistants will be required to undergo criminal background checks with the Hopewell Township Police department prior to the start of the season.
